Mr. Kamins is a Washington area real estate developer, venture capital investor and a long-time Republican activist.  His extensive charitable and community efforts include participation on the Board and National Vice President of Philanthropy for the Weizmann Institute of Science,  and service on the National Finance Advisory Council of the George and Barbara Bush Endowment for Innovative Cancer Research.  Mr. Kamins has served on the Executive Committee of the National Finance Committee of George W. Bush for President and as the Bush-Cheney CoChairman for the State of Maryland in 2000 and 2004.  During the tenure of Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House, he was Chairman of GOPAC.  Mr. Kamins was recently appointed by President Bush to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
